Minister’s Message

Manitoba Agriculture is proud to partner with the Manitoba Seed Growers’ Association and Seed World Group to produce Seed Manitoba 2026. This guide provides producers with independent, third party data to support variety selection decisions for the upcoming crop year. With crop varieties tested at over 20 locations across Manitoba, Seed Manitoba offers valuable insights into performance under local conditions, including agronomic details, disease resistance, and quality information for both new and existing varieties. This guide is made possible through the dedicated and collaborative efforts of the Manitoba Crop Variety Evaluation Team (MCVET), crop research contractors, producers, the seed industry, commodity associations, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), and staff from Manitoba Agriculture.

Agriculture remains a key industry in Manitoba, significantly contributing to Manitoba’s economy. Crop producers play a crucial role in ensuring that agricultural products are among the province’s largest exports. Each growing season presents its own challenges, and I would like to acknowledge the hard work of producers and express my gratitude for your unwavering dedication to the agriculture industry.

As you plan for the 2026 season, I wish everyone a successful growing season ahead.
