The Manitoba Seed Growers’ Association is proud to cooperate with numerous industry partners to present the 2026 edition of Seed Manitoba.
Seed Manitoba has been, and continues to be, one of the most widely used tools for variety selection by farmers in Manitoba. The success of this publication results in part from the cooperative efforts of various industry representatives and specialists who make up the Manitoba Crop Variety Evaluation Team (MCVET).
You may notice a new feel and look for Seed Manitoba 2026 from previous editions. After several years of partnership with the Manitoba Co-operator, MCVET has changed publishers. Seed World Group has several years’ experience in Canada’s seed industry as well as other provincial seed guide publications, and we are excited about the new partnership.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how grateful the Manitoba Seed Growers’ Association is for the excellent partnership we had with the various iterations of the Manitoba Co-operator brand.
It started with a group of dedicated and talented individuals as the Manitoba Pool Elevator’s publication the Manitoba Co-operator. Seed Manitoba followed those same individuals when they launched the Farmers’ Independent Weekly, and finally we remained a partner when they became Glacier Farm Media and Seed Manitoba was once again released bundled with your Manitoba Co-operator subscription.
As you review the variety trial results within this guide to decide which varieties are right for your operation, remember that your local seed grower can often provide added, regional insight on how new varieties compare, having grown them alongside the established varieties in the years of seed increase leading up to commercial release.
The board of the Manitoba Seed Growers’ Association is proud to be part of this publication, and it is our wish that as farmers are making important decisions for the 2026 growing season, the resources in this guide will be a critical source of information.
